Certifications and Regulations

Each State regulates the use of electric motors in order to ensure the safety of staff and the working environment.
Commission Regulation EU 2019/1781
Commission Regulation EU 2019/1781 introduces new requirements for electric motors and variable speed
drive. It will be implemented in two stages:
– Starting from 1st of July 2021
– Starting from 1st of July 2023

Elvem is Atex certified by Third Party.
The Atex certification is aimed at the European market. For all products installed in potentially explosive areas in EU Member States, Atex certification, acronym for Atmosphères Explosibles, is mandatory.

QUALITY SYSTEM UNI EN ISO 9001
With the aim of increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of internal processes to better satisfy its customers and be able to respond to the increasing competitive markets, starting from 2001, Elvem is certified ISO 9001.
Elvem is committed to comply with all the quality parameters indicated by the internationally recognised ISO 9001 procedure. This allows Elvem to ensure its customers maintenance and improvement over time of the quality of delivered products and services.
CE DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY
All electric asynchronous three-phase and single-phase motors manufactured by Elvem are in accordance with IEC 60034 and European regulations
– Low Voltage Directive (LVD) 2014/35/EU
– Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC) 2014/30/EU
– RoHs Directive 2011/6/CE
– Machinery Directive 2006/42/CE
IE2 or IE3 motors conform to regulations 640/2009/CE, 4/2014/EU and Directive 2009/125/CE
(*) assuming for this that the motor part cannot be put into service before the machine into which it is to be incorporated has been declared conform to the provisions of the directive. When using the motor, you must ensure compliance with the standard EN 60204-1 and safety instructions in the use and maintenance manual.
CONFORMITY TO UL CSA
The UL Recognised component mark is issued by UL, Underwriters Laboratories Inc., an independent nonprofit U.S. Organization that regulates, verifies and certifies for more than a century the compliance of certain regulations such as North America Federal and State (USA) and Canada regulations.
Ensure compliance with these standards is mandatory for the marketing of products, including electric motors, within the United States and Canada.
Products that bear this marking meet safety standards, the requirements of which are laid down for the various industries and collected in codes subject to review on a yearly basis.

EAC CONFORMITY
The Federation of Russian States requires for certain products the EAC compliance. The Gost label and TR CU certificate indicate conformity of the products to the regulations and laws in the States of the Federation.
Elvem can provide for all electric motors this documentation.
CCC AND CHINA ENERGY LABEL COMPLIANCE
Where required for export to the Chinese market, Elvem can supply motors with CCC compliant and China Energy Label.
DNV-GL CERTFICATION

Where required for export to the Chinese market, Elvem can supply CCC compliant engines equipped with the
China Energy Label.

DNV-GL CERTFICATION
Aluminum and cast iron Elvem electric motors, starting from size 56 up to size 355, comply with DNV-GL rules for classification – ships, offshore units and high speed and light craft, for marine application/environments.
